King of Fighters 97 is a fun, old-school fighting game. A technically superb port of an excellent fighting game. The best possible King of Fighters game. While it naturally lacks the characters, moves, etc. from later titles, this disc has everything up to and through KoF 98. Single player consists of small challenges, arcade mode, 1v1 matches, etc. All the stuff you would expect from a fighter. It also includes the Neo Geo version of King of Fighters 98 if you want to play that. New backgrounds, more comprehensive character roster. The King of Fighters '98 arranged soundtrack is one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. There's 30 challenges in the game too but I don't believe you get anything for clearing them. Classic Neo Geo mode is also available, which is a nice plus.

Overall, I recommend it for those who have played King of Fighters 98 before and want the best fighter selection available. Plain and simple The King of Fighter 98' Ultimate Match is pure fan service. It's nice but the game could be so much more. Great Fighting Game i highly recommend checking it out.
